Request Access -- An add-on for Client Access.

Allow your site visitors to submit a request to receive access to your private site. Once requested, all you need to do is click the link in the approval request email, and your site visitor will be notified via email that their request is approved.


Request Access is an add-on for the official WordPress plugin Client Access. With Request Access you can automate the approval process for your private WordPress website.

Request Access

An easy-to-use add-on for Client Access, which allows your clients to request access to view their private site. They simply visit the website, fill out the request access form, and the site admin will receive an email notice with the requester’s information. All the admin needs to do to approve is click a link in the email! Once approved the requester will receive an email informing them they now have access!

Both emails, the client email and admin email are fully customizable using several tags to derive items such as; client name, site name, approval URL, and more.

If your already using Client Access, Request Access is a must to ease the approval process.

This add-on extends the base functionality for the free WordPress plugin Client Access.

The Requested Access add-on for Client Access provides the following features:

  • Visitors can now click a link to request access.
  • Site admin is notified via email.
  • Once a visitor is approved they are automatically added to the approved IP list.
  • An email is sent to the visitor containing: the password, a message informing them that their IP is approved.
  • Each request is logged.
  • Logged request are trashed once approved.
  • The admin email received is fully customizable.
  • The requested email sent is fully customizable.
  • Fully responsive, mobile compatibility.

Once installed and activated a new tab will appear named "Request Access" with additional settings. These settings allow you to manage the Requested Access settings, which are:

  • Enable/Disable
  • Allow email(s) notices to be received when a visitor request access (default site admin).
  • Customize the request email: Subject, and Message using the following tag: {approval_url}, {name}.
  • Customize the approval email: Subject, and Message using the following tag: {sitename}, {ipaddress}, {password}.
  • Customize the front-end (displayed for unauthorized visitors): main content, and footer, using the following tags: {requestaccessurl}
  • View Log

Automatic

  1. Go to Plugins > Add New
  2. Click "upload" (if you do not have an upload option please contact your WordPress administrator)
  3. Navigate to the Zip file, and upload the Zip containing the plugin files
  4. Click Install Now to install the WordPress Plugin
  5. Once activated visit the Client Access settings, and you will see an additional tab labeled "Request Access"

Manual

  1. Upload client-access-request-access to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress
  3. Once activated visit the Client Access settings, and you will see an additional tab labeled "Request Access"

Do I need Client Access to use this add-on?

Make sure you have Client Access installed and activated. The settings will appear on your Client Access settings page.
